A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for Mehmet GUNEL. He has been diagnosed with Erotic Mania. He believed he was in relationships with both Belinda STRONACH (former Liberal MP) and Lisa LAFLAMME (CTV News Anchor). GUNEL acted on this belief and was charged with Criminal Harassment in Ottawa, Ontario, but not found criminally responsible. However, the Court still imposed conditions on him to not have contact with LaFLAMME or STRONACH, refrain from possessing firearms and reside in the Montréal area. It is believed he has been traveling throughout the United States and Mexico since July 2009.
On February 15th, 2010, GUNEL was checked crossing the US border into Surrey, BC, and he stated he was going to Vancouver. His current location is unknown.
