Graffitti / File #19-1570
March 20, 2019

STATUS: OPEN
Help us solve Graffitti taking place! / File #19-1570.

Around February 8th, 2019, an area near the Downtown Visitor's Centre was targeted with Graffiti. Some video was obtained & is posted to our Facebook site. Police are seeking the public's assistance is information that may identify whom may be responsible for this occurrence & others that have since taken place.

The City of Campbell River and the Campbell River RCMP take great pride in presenting the city as a clean and safe place to live. Apart from the financial cost and the drain on limited police resources, the mere presence of graffiti makes some residents less at-ease and creates a perception the city is not safe. The location of this incident serves to create a poor first impression to visitors, harms the city’s reputation and discourages the use of city facilities. Graffiti is not a victimless crime!!! Please submit any tips to us.

Theft Of Child's Bicycle / File #18-8290
July 24, 2018

STATUS: OPEN
What should have been a typical summer day for a 12 year old buying candy and pop turned into a night mare. On Wednesday, July 24th, at approximately 1:45 pm, the young man’s locked bike was stolen from the bike rack at Quality Foods located on Merecroft Road. The lock remained wrapped around the pole, but had been cut and the bike was gone.

An RCMP Officer, who just happened to be in the area, was approached by the boy who described his bicycle as black KONA with blue accents, a 24 speed men’s mountain bike and only two years old. The KONA has front shocks, a water bottle holder and disc brakes.

"Theft of any kind is unacceptable, but when you’re stealing a bike from an innocent young boy, it takes it to another level. If you can help with relocating the bike to the rightful owner, we ask that you call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477," said Inspector Jeff Preston.
