3/10/2017 - Assault / File #17-2351

The Campbell River RCMP are seeking the public`s assistance in obtaining information about an alleged assault that occurred at the intersection of Dogwood Street and Evergreen Rd on March 7, 2017 around 9:30 pm.   According to the information provided to investigators, a lone female was assaulted by two males who were believed to be in possession of a weapon. The female was able to run away and was not physically injured as a result of the assault. 

During the course of the investigation, Police were informed that a passerby may have intervened during the incident and Police would like to speak with this person and determine what they observed. 

In addition, Police are looking for the public`s assistance in identifying the two suspects.  You are asked to call Crimestoppers or the Campbell River RCMP at (250)286-6221 with any information.

2/27/2017 - Pedestrian Hit & Run / File #17-1833.

On Feb 21, 2017 at approx 1219 hours a female was walking westbound by the Merecroft Centre & a male in a older grey, possibly Mazda hit her on her left side causing severe pain to the lower left leg area. The male was described as older with grey hair, glasses and blueish shirt.

The female indicated she was struck with the front of the vehicle right about centre of vehicle; she then pounded on the hood of the vehicle and the male who was indicating a left turn turned right and sped down Merecroft Rd. towards S. Alder St.

Anyone witnessing this please contact, Cst. Dormuth at the Campbell River RCMP Detachment or call Crime Stoppers if you wish to remain anonymous.

2/23/2017 - Break & Enter / File #17-1038

The Campbell River RCMP are investigating a break and enter that occurred sometime between 2017-01-27 and 2017-01-29 in the 1000 block of Fir St. A significant amount of cash was taken along with a few other items. If anyone has any information, please contact the Campbell River RCMP or Crime Stoppers.

If someone is convicted in this matter, the home owners insurance company stated they will give a cash reward for information that leads to a conviction. This is separate from Crime Stoppers and we are in no way involved or acting on the insurance company`s behalf as to their reward!!

11/22/2016 - Counterfeit U.S. Bills Circulating
Campbell River RCMP is currently experiencing an increase in incidents involving counterfeit currency. All recent transactions have involved the passing of fake $US20 and $US50 bills. These incidents are believed to relate a spike of counterfeit currency transactions which have taken place elsewhere on Vancouver Island over the past week.
 
Police request retail staff to remain vigilant when conducting cash transactions involving US dollar bills. In addition, retail staff should seek to retain any bills which are suspected of being fake and to call the RCMP at 250-286-6221.

10/26/2016 - Robberies - Files #16-12493, 12804 & 12904.

The Campbell River RCMP are seeking the public`s assistance in identifying the person or persons responsible for several robberies that have occurred over the last two weeks.

On October 15, 2016 at 8:39 pm the Campbell River Lodge liquor store on the Island Hwy was robbed by a male who produced a knife and demanded money from the employee. The male was described as wearing dark clothing which included a hooded sweater, sunglasses and gloves. After being provided with the money, the suspect fled the store on foot.

On October 22, 2016 at 10:46 pm the Big Rock liquor store on the South Island Hwy was robbed by a male who produced a knife and demanded money from the employee. The male was described as wearing a dark jacket, a toque, gloves and sunglasses. After receiving the money, the male fled the store on foot and is believed to have accessed a vehicle a short distance away.

On October 25, 2016 at 8:20 pm a male attempted to rob the Jolly Giant convenience store on 7th Ave. The male was wearing dark clothing which included a hooded sweater, sunglasses and gloves.The male fled the area prior to receiving any money.

None of the employees involved were physically harmed during the robberies.

The Campbell River RCMP believe that these robberies are related and are seeking the public`s assistance in identifying the person responsible.

"We are asking the public to look at these photographs and contact us with any information that you may have. We have numerous officers assigned to this investigation and we wish to identify this person in order to prevent further robberies from occurring."

10/25/2016 - Break & Enter / #16-12071

Campbell River RCMP are investigating a Break & Enter to a local bicycle shop that occurred on 2016OCT6. A black & red Specialized - Stump Jumper and a burgundy & black Rocky Mountain - Instinct 950 were stolen from the store (similar bicycles pictured below).

Please call Crime Stoppers should you have any information stemming from this occurrence and / or if you have an idea where these stolen bikes may be located.

10/20/2016 - Theft of Motorcycle / #16-10557

Campbell River RCMP are investigating a Theft of Motorcycle that took place around 2016SEP01. Stolen was a 2008 black Suzuki GSXR 750 K8 from Browns Bay Packing; police are looking for any information as to the suspect(s) involved / whereabouts of the stolen motorcycle.

Campbell River RCMP are asking for the public`s assistance in identifying the male & vehicle in these photos, suspected of being involved in a theft of property on September 7th, 2016.

The emblem shown on the suspect`s ball cap is likely the "Red Dragon" brand & the shirt logo is believed to be "Can`t Stop The Crooks".
