Campbell River RCMP are seeking the public`s assistance in identifying the male shown in these photographs; he is believed to be responsible for a Break & Enter that occurred to a local business during the early hours around 2017OCT01.

12/5/2017 - Nootka Sound / Gold River - Mischief to Vehicle / File #17-833
 
On the evening of December 2, 2017 in Gold River, along Highway near the area known as “Big Bend”, a vehicle was parked in the pull-out and left overnight.  The next day, the vehicle was found to have been vandalized. 
 
Police are seeking the public’s assistance in solving this crime.  Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Nootka Sound RCMP or Crimestoppers.

The pictured 2007 Green Yamaha Grizzly Quad / ATV was stolen around Nov 14 from the Campbell River Rd area.

Campbell River RCMP are seeking information regarding the Theft of a 24 foot, dual axle covered trailer!

It was stolen around 2017OCT24 from the 1300 block of South Island Hwy and later recovered, burned out in the Comox area the same day.

10/16/2017 - Break & Enter / Nootka Sound RCMP File #17-422

On July 15, 2017 Nootka Sound RCMP responded to a break and enter and theft at a Lexi`s Hair Salon in Gold River.  The business was broken into overnight and items including merchandise and a stereo were stolen.  The total value of items stolen was estimated to be approximately $700.

10/5/2017 - Theft Of Bicycle / File #17-11321FOUND

Campbell River RCMP are asking for the public`s assistance in keeping an eye out for /locating a bike similar to the one in the attached photograph. It was stolen off the Island Hwy area on this date.

The bicycle is a 2013 Giant Glory downhill described as light blue with the back suspension in black with white lettering.

10/2/2017 - Shots Fired At Residence / File #17-11130

On September 30, 2017 at 11:40 pm Campbell River RCMP responded to a 911 call on the Quinsam Reserve, in Campbell River, BC. The 911 caller advised that a residence on We Wai Kai Crescent had just been shot at and requested police assistance.

Numerous officers attended the area and secured the residence. The investigation determined that several persons were inside the residence at the time of the shooting, thankfully no one was injured. The unknown shooter departed the area in a vehicle believed to be four door hatchback sedan.

The alleged shooter was described as a Caucasian male in his 30`s, with a chubby face and a light brown moustache.

Initial investigation has led investigators to believe that this was a targeted incident and that the general public is not at risk.

Campbell River RCMP are requesting that anyone with information about this incident to contact the Campbell River Serious Crimes Section at 250-286-6221 or if you wish to remain anonymous, Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

9/27/2017 - Suspicious Incident / File #17-10381

The Campbell River RCMP wish to advise the public of a suspicious incident involving an adult male approaching a young child in the in the 800 block of Merecroft Rd.


On September 13, 2017, at around 4 pm, an unknown adult male approached a young child who was playing in his yard. The mother of the child intervened and removed the child from the yard. The adult male departed the area on foot towards Dogwood Street. The investigation determined that the male did attempt to verbally speak with the young child but did not physically come into contact with him. 
The male is described as Caucasian in his 50’s, over 6 feet tall, 160-170 pounds, grey (salt and pepper) shorter hair, clean shaven and nicely dressed.


On September 26, 2017, the child’s mother observed the same adult male walking in the area of Merecorft Rd and Birch Ave and requested Police assistance with identifying the male. Police attended but were unable to locate the male.

Investigators are actively attempting to identify this male and speak with him about the incident earlier in the month. Based on the physical description of this male, Police do not believe that this incident is related to the incident of a child being approached by an unknown male that occurred on September 22, 2017.

9/25/2017 - Suspicious Incidents At School

Suspicious Incidents at Schools

Campbell River RCMP are investigating a suspicious incident that occurred Friday morning, September 22nd, near Martin Drive of the Willow Point area around 8:15 am. A young boy was walking to school using the paths in the area and was approached by a male described as a dark skinned male, approximately 173 cm (5`-8"), in his mid 20`s wearing a flat brimmed ball cap, a dark hoodie sweatshirt and sweat pants. The male told the youth, "Come with me."   The youth fled the area. There was a dark coloured van or SUV in the area that has been described as being larger that a mini van with windows at the back, no make, model or licence plate were obtained. The investigation is ongoing at time.

Police are requesting any witnesses to this event or any other suspicious incidents to contact the Campbell River RCMP (250)286-6221 or Campbell River Crime Stoppers

Police are also reminding all parents to take this opportunity to review safety procedures with their children in regards to dealing with strangers and what to do when approached by strangers.
